All of the above pictures were taken by my boyfriend, who is also responsible for Halloween-scaping my house.
The orb of light in the first picture is the whim of the camera lens... or maybe it's something else entirely? After all, Halloween is supposed to be the time of the year when the veil between this world and "the next" is the thinnest. (Hence it being an opportune time to honor the dead.)
May you all have more treats than tricks today... and maybe even find a warm place in the sun to rest your weary bones.
Happy Halloween!

Hmmm... what is that orb of light? Very odd, very Halloween. Have a good one!

Wow - your bf is a master halloweener! I'm impressed and will be showing those pictures to my bf whose talents at creepified house embellishment have not yet manifested. Maybe next year... Have a scary day!
OOOOOOOOOooooooooooooOOOOOOOOO Pretty scary. Happy Halloween to you and your Decorator. Nice job.
Carol, it must be something to do with the camera lens pointing into the setting sun... but it was very appropriately spooky! :)
kris, thanks--I'll pass along the compliments! We just walked past a house last night that is decked out to the nines with blue-lit ghosts in the windows, a party of spooks and ghouls in the front yard, etc. BF's comment was: "Man... I really need to put some more effort into the house next year!" lol.
Thanks, Lisa! Happy Halloween to you, too. :)
Orb of light indeed! I think it is a spirit! My compliments to your BF aka Stage Manager! Great job on all. No tricks yet.
Happy Halloween to you too!
Happy Halloween! Love the decor!
Your BF did an outstanding and creepy job! I say that orb IS "something else"...and I should know, cuz' today is my birthday. (I know, explains a lot, eh?) Happy Halloween to you, too!
Happy Halloween, Kim. I love your bf's decorating - totally cool! Will you have creepy sounds or music playing for your trick-or-treater's?
I am impressed - very unique Halloween decorations. Have a good one!
layanee, no tricks here, either, but lots of treats were given out! We have apartment-dwelling friends come in each year and distribute candy with us (fun for them, and since there are so many kids in this suburb it helps us, too) and out of 17 bags we had 1 Hershey bar and 1 Twix left. It was gorgeous weather, so it was an especially busy night.
pam and greeny, thanks!
Lisa, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope you have a wonderful one.
Kris, I wish. :) This lovely old house does not have any outdoor electrical outlets. Not ONE. And to have spooky music coming from inside would mean that a window must be open, which would probably just give the dog license to bark and roo and whine to come outside even more than she already does. lol.
Phillip, thanks! Nice of you to stop by--hope you have a great Halloween.
That first photo is outstanding!!!
You know, in the 30 years we've lived here, I don't recall ever having a single trick-or-treater. :-o
Kim: I had NO trick or treaters! That used to bother me but now I just think about the candy temptation and consider myself lucky.
I especially like the first photo! Very spooky. We had a fun Halloween, I dressed up as a pirate, and spent more time scraping makeup off my face than putting it on!
Kim, some people in Austin celebrate Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. You probably know this day commemorates deceased family and friends with altars and traditional foods. So the parade of sweet is not over yet - the special foods include sugar skulls. Your boyfriend would probably like the artwork.

kylee, I know what you mean--sometimes my parents had just a couple from the neighborhood, and some years none! I lived in a subdivision before this house where we rarely saw our neighbors and often had zero trick-or-treaters, either. This place, in contrast, is hoppin' on Halloween. lol.
Layanee, I hear you... I was happy we passed all of ours out (except for one lone Hershey bar) to help me avoid temptation. :)
muum, I'm giggling at the thought! Isn't some of that makeup truly nasty? Scraping is a good word for it sometimes!
Annie, I do indeed know about the Day of the Dead (which is more fun to say in Spanish) but I hadn't seen those sugar skulls before. Those are very cool! (And yes, Brian agrees.) I'll have to keep those in mind for next year.
I was confused and a little scared by the first pic until it dawned on me that it was for Halloween.
Nice decorations.
That's some seriously spooky Halloween-scaping. Great lighting!
How fun. I didn't absolutely nothing for Halloween at home this year (it's been a crappy fall) - but hopefully next year I'll be up for it. Love the orb of light! Perfect.
