My Favorite Holiday Arrives!

Wishing everyone an Enchanted, Enchanting, Haunted, and Hauntingly Happy Halloween!

Always remember to carry your shield, Perseus... or you, too, may become one of Medusa's victims!

(Yes, those are plastic snakes braided into my hair. It took about an hour and 15 minutes for me to put them in on my own, and about 30 minutes to take them all out, with Steve's assistance!)

*Edited to add that we won the costume contest that night!  Our very cool hostess wrapped up a box of Frankenberry cereal for the second place winner, and Steve and I get to split a Magic Hat "Night of the Living Dead" sampler 12 pack. Fun!

Too funny girl. We are here doling out candy as I type. Ooops gotta go...

And why, might I add, aren't they real snakes??

I love this day too. It's kinda sacred to me - someone at work asked if I was going to work on a section of a proposal today, and I looked at them like they were CRAZY. Work, on Halloween? That would be just wrong.

Greenbow Lisa, we DID have fun! I love Halloween. :) Steve wanted to do a couples costume, and I have wanted to be Medusa for a couple of years now, so it all worked out okay. (Except of course of the blurry pic!)

Pam, good for you! No work, ALL PLAY on Halloween, for sure. (And IF ONLY I could figure out how to pull off braiding live snakes into my hair, that would be awesome. I tried to find some of those jointed wooden ones that would move along with me... but couldn't find any that looked realistic enough and were affordable. Some of the tails on these plastic ones bounced around a bit, at least.)

Kim, The best costumes I've seen in years. Congrats on winning the contest...very deserving. How many Michael Jackson's did you see? We have only had one Trick or Treater in the entire 23+ years we've lived in this house! Too scary to walk on our sidewalk-less street~ gail

You are just too cute, Kim :) Congratulations ... great costumes. Mr. Ho-Hum and I went to Young Son's annual Halloween bash ... very creative costumes! The holiday seems to get bigger & bigger each year ... everyone decorates outside, even gaudier than Christmas!

Great costumes! I feel like a spoilsport because I helped get rid of our office dress-up tradition.
